Cuti-cuti Malaysia?

Not really.... conference...., then seminar. 2 different places, too much sweat, too tired..!!! Or yea...!! too much air liur dibazirkan ketika menggoreng di kedua-dua event.. ahakkss!! Sapa soh aku bercakap kan... pantang dapat mike, mana reti stop.

Tapi, 2 things in Pangkor stayed in my mind. The kids at SK Pangkor (Ben 10!!) and laksa mi! (yummy). The kids will b taking UPSR later in the year. Most of the kids in Ben 10 group were from the weaker class. Sad to see that they don't really have ambition beyond finishing school. 2 of the boys's favourite TV program is on 'mat rempit'. I asked whether he already knows how to do a 'willie'? And he said, only on the bicycle, but he can drive a motorcycle already!!!!! What do u say to that?? Well.... i told him that if he really needed to ride the motorcycle, don't forget his helmet... haha!! Kalau eksiden terus mati takpe dik, kalau patah riuk, menyusahkan orang..!!

The laksa mi was served during tea break :). The last time i had it was almost 20 years ago (which is about the last time i set foot on Pangkor too). But i still remember the taste. And it still taste as good as it did the last time. What is it u might ask? Fish soup noodle :).

Interlude - AKIM AF7

Hmmm.. aku tak follow sangat AF7 ni. I mean, kalau aku ada di rumah jam 9 malam depan TV cenel 104, aku akan tengok Konsert AF7. Malam ni final and juara is Hafiz from Sarawak. No doubt he has the voice, always consistent in his delivery, he deserved to win.

Its just that... kalau tengok tag line AF musim ni - "transformasi" - aku rasa ada pelajar lain yang patut menang and that person is Akim!!! He is the most transformed in my opinion. Edrie Hashim was right, we found a raw talent in Akim. The second song he sang was fantastic in terms of his performance, voice control, feel..., fiery - such a charismatic performance. His stage presence can be felt even from my couch!!

I'm curious to see his progress after this. He could catch up to Faizal Tahir in no time if he stay the course. Looking forward to hearing your songs Akim, all the best...

Poring Hot Springs and Canopy Walk

We asked J'nal to take a detour to Poring Hot Springs, about half an hour ride from Kundasang. Beautiful place, lots of people taking advantage of the various pool of hot sulfuric water for its health benefits. We decided to take a more adventurous trip up the canopy walk!!! Truth is, we didnt have towels with us, and didnt want to buy new towels, so up the hill we go!!! The walk up the hill to the start of the canopy walk itself is an adventure!!! Kak imot n I were sweating buckets and panting our way to the top. Man!! my legs feel as heavy as a tree trunk!! I really need to start working out man, serious!!!

Kelakar jugak tengok kak imot berjaya doing the canopy walk in her heels n carrying her handbag heheh. But the view from the top is worth all the sweat and aching bones.. Beautiful....

Morning at the Pines

2nd day in Kundasang. Kak imot got up at her body clock, which unfortunately is at 4 am!!!! By 5.45 am she was bathed and ready for breakfast. Me and eda are still curled up in bed. In my sis's defence, it was already bright outside. Sun up is really early here. Bercinta rasanya nak mandi, sejuk gilerrr. Bilik takde aircond, tapi angin yang bertiup sepoi-sepoi bahasa tu pun dah lebih sejuk dari aircond. Nasib baik ada air panas. While on the way to breakfast, we were snapping pics all over the place. After breakfast too!! Its such a nice place, built following the contour of the land, its environment friendly. J'nal will be picking us up at 11 am, while waiting, we'll just lepak around the place enjoying the scenery.

Kota Kinabalu trip

I'm posting from Kota Kinabalu today. Arrived here yesterday with my sis and niece. A friend of my niece - dauz- picked us up from the airport and took us to lunch at tanjung aru. He arranged for a taxi to take us up to Kundasang. the driver - j'nal turns out to be a nice young man, friendly and made the 2 ++ hour trip really nice. We stop a few times along the way to snap pics of the gunung kinabalu. Magnificent mountain - God's wonderful creation, pasak bumi bertuah Sabah.

J'nal brought us to The Pines Resort at Kundasang. Its beautiful in its simplicity, with pine trees all around and English-cottage designed rooms. Sampai agak lewat, lepas check-in dan mandi, we decided to walk down to the small town to get some stuff and fruits, my sis got some problem passing motion (heheh). It turned out to be NOT such a good idea after all.. it seems we're the only ones doing it.. ahakks!! The road leading to town is the main road to other places such as Ranau, Telipod, Sandakan etc.. So lotsa traffic, the buses were swishing by it seems at the speed of light!!! There were no street lights either!!!! Mak aii... makan abuk jer kitorang malam tu, sampai ke resort, kene mendaki jalan yang agak curam... I was moving as fast as a tortoise!!!! Shows just how 'fit' I am..!! I really need to work out..serious!!!! And the wind blowing was sooooo cold.....!!!

We decided to eat dinner terus, rather than balik bilik and having to trek down again later. At least 4 big round tables were occupied, having steam boat!!! Yummy!.. but we decided to have a proper nasi and lauk meal instead. I must say, the food is not bad at all.. Berbaloi la dengan harga yang kitorang bayar. After dinner, a short trek to the room and after a hot bath, everybody's ready to sleep off the day...
